Day 1. Terelj National Park
Start our trip at 10:00 to Terelj National Park through Chinggis Monument.
Terelj, about 80 km northeast of Ulaanbaatar, is a deservedly popular destination. At 1600 meters in altitude, the area is cool and the alpine scenery is magnificent, and there are great opportunities for hiking, rock climbing, horse riding, rafting, swimming (in icy water), and, for hard-core extreme sports fanatics. Day 2. Mongol sand dune – a camel riding for a short time
Today we wil continue our trip to ELSEN TASARKHAI-Khugnu-Tarna. It is a protected national park in the Bulgan province of Mongolia. The park headquarters are in the village of Rashaant east of the place. Elsen Tasarkhai is small sand dunes, 80 km long, continuously lies in the lowland of legendary Khugnu Khaan and Bat Khaan mountains. Sand dunes represents landscape, climate & ecology of Gobi Desert, in this region.
There you will have short time camel riding and experiencing part of Gobi ecosystem.
Day 3. Orkhon water fall
Today’s destination the Orkhon Waterfall water flows for remarkable 1120 km to the North and lies in the historically significant Orkhon Valley, UNESCO World Heritage site. The waterfall formed by combination volcanic eruption and earthquakes some 20000 years ago cascades down from a height 27 meters. It has many species of fish like the pike, Siberian sturgeon, taimen, asian common asp, Siberian grayling, roach etc.
Day 4. Tsenkher Hot Spring
After breakfast, continue your trip to tsenkher hot spring. Day 5. Terkh White Great White Lake
Today we are going to drive to Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur on a very good newly built paved road until reaching destination.
It is an astonishingly beautiful lake with relatively pure fresh water. Torrents of lava issuing from the Khorgo volcano blocked the north and south Terkh rivers, so forming the dammed lake of Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake at an altitude of 2060 meters above sea level. The lake supports Pike and other fish. Rare birds are found here.
After exploring the environment, you can prepare yourself for next day’s horse trip.
Day 6. Terkh White Lake (horse trip to Khorgo Volcano)
After breakfast at 10:00 am, start your horse trip to volcano with well trained local guide and your tour guide. Before riding your guide will give you clear instruction about horse riding.
KHORGO is an altitude of 2200 meters above sea level. Khorgo is rich in beautiful scenery of mountains, cliffs, rapid streams, rivers, lakes, extinct volcanoes, green forests and pastures, where the long-haired yaks and horses pasture. Natural zones around Khorgo: Taiga forest, Transition between Taiga forest and grassland, Mountain Forest Steppe.
Day 7. Taikhar Rock.
Today’s destination TAIKHAR ROCK is located 22 km northeast from Tsetserleg, south the Khoid Tamir River. It’s a big 20-metres (66 feet) high granite rock, covered with 150 writings in many different languages and dating back from many different periods (runic, Sogd, Uyghur, Mongolian, Nangiad, Tibetan writings). The oldest one is the runic writing, dating back from the turkish period of the 6th and 7th centuries.
Legends
The most famous legend bound to Taikhar rock tells that Bukhbilegt, a giant warrior, threw this rock on a snake that was coming out from the land, which explains its strange presence in this place.
Locals also believe that anyone manage to throw a stone on the top of the rock, will get rich.
Day 8. Kharkhorin village and visit the Erdene Zuu Monastery
To After breakfast we are driving the symbolic ruins of the 13th century capital of the Mongol Empire. Visit Erdene-Zuu, the oldest monastery, with 108 stupas, built in 1586. Then visit Karakorum museum and see the Great Mongol state period, Stone Age, Bronze Age, Ancient state period halls.
Day 9. Khustai National Park
After breakfast drive to the Khustai National Park. There you would be able to see Prjevalskii horses (wild horses). Also you will visit little natural museum and hall of guests for short video about National Park in multi language. Enjoy small hiking and photographing the charming landscape and wildlife. You will stay in Nomadic family where you experience Nomadic life style including trying milk products, milking the cow, processing of white products.
Day 10. After lunch, we are driving back to UB city.
